In our second year of the Mac Humanitarian Project, we returned to the Dominican Republic. This time, we were 8 Macdonald High School grads and we had partnered up with 8 John Abbott College students to form one building team. Our build was in Arroyo Secco, a rural community outside of Sosua. Once again, we travelled with Live Different.
We built a home for an amazing family of 5. The father, while he worked as police officer in Sosua, working 6 days a week only afforded the family a monthly income of $150. MHP, following a model of sustainability, provided the family with a much needed boost to help ensure the safety and security of the family for years to come.
